Texas OL picks up offers from Hawks, Bulldogs

Sugarland (Texas) Clements offensive lineman Ryan Cantrell has seen the recruiting attention pick up including a first official visit being set up.
"Kansas called a couple weeks ago and offered me a scholarship," the 6-foot-3, 265-pound Cantrell said. "Louisiana Tech has offered too. That makes three total schools that have offered so far."

The Jayhawks and Bulldogs are joined by Houston who extended an offer earlier in the fall.
"I have also set up my first official visit," Cantrell said. "I'm going to visit Kansas on Dec. 5. Louisiana Tech has talked about having me up in December, but so far, nothing is on the calendar."
Cantrell maintains he wants to find a school where he can get on the field early in his career.
"Like I've said before, I don't think I would play anywhere as a true freshman," the two-star rated guard said. "It probably wouldn't be a good thing. But, I want to be able to get out there fairly early after that. I think I can pick things up and be able to help out early on."
The phone calls haven't been limited to those three schools. TCU, Duke, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, UTEP, Arizona and Texas Tech have all stayed in touch too.
"I really don't have a school I would say is at the top of the list right now," he said. "But, the ones that have offered are obviously more interested in me at this point, and I have a lot of interest in them too."
