Celina, Texas, offensive tackle Troy Franklin was getting some serious attention from schools like Arkansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and others, but two schools stepped up early in the process and offered him scholarships.

Those two schools were North Texas and Tulsa, and now the 6-foot-5, 270-pounder has rewarded one of those schools with a commitment.
"Troy committed to Todd Dodge and Chuck Petersen at the University of North Texas last night," Scott Franklin, Troy's father said. "He's very excited about the decision."
North Texas has been one of the most aggressive pursuing Franklin and that stance paid off with a pledge.
Franklin is one of the more versatile prospects in the North Texas area. While most people like his ability as a defensive player, more interest has been coming as of late for his abilities as an offensive lineman at the next level.
"I thought I was going to be a defensive tackle, but from what they're telling me, I'd be a whole lot better on the offensive line," he said.
