Texas OL holds UTEP offer

Royce City, Texas offensive guard Brock Wempa has earned his first scholarship offer after putting in plenty of offseason work. His busy camp schedule mixed with his offseason training has him entering his senior season with one very good opportunity while many more likely await.
"I've been going to a lot of football camps," Wempa said. "I went to Louisiana Tech, I went to Baylor twice, I went to SMU and I went to the UTEP camp (in Mesquite). I've been working pretty hard in the weight room and getting ready for my senior year."

After his performance for the UTEP coaches in Mesquite, the Miners became Wempa's first offer.
"I got the offer I'd say about a month ago," he said. "I think UTEP is a really good program. I don't know much about it because I haven't been down there yet but I really like the offensive line coach."
Outside of UTEP, Wempa is also very interested in Baylor and thinks that an offer could possibly be in the mix out of Waco.
"Baylor is recruiting me pretty hard," he said. "They just said they want to see me in the fall and see some senior film. I've got some hand-written letters from Louisiana Tech and Baylor. Baylor would be a pretty good choice for me right now. But UTEP is my offer so I'm very interested in them."
What are Wempa's assets on the football field?
"My strength would have to be my quickness and my strength," he said. "I don't have much height, I'm only 6-3. But I have good arm length."
