Garland, Texas offensive lineman Buddy Brumit is on schedule to complete his high school days in December and enroll at his college choice in January. Colleges have started to notice the faster track he's on and are starting to fill his mailbox with scholarship offers.
"I have five scholarship offers," the 6-foot-5, 285-pound Brumit said. "Tulsa is the most recent one. Arizona, Colorado State, Indiana and Iowa State are the others that have offered."
Brumit knows what he is looking for in a college.
"I want to find a place that I an get a good education," he said. "I don't know what I want to major in at this point so I'll look at several options as I go forward. I also want to find a place I am comfortable with since I'll be there for the next four or five years."
The summer schedule won't include many football camps for Brumit.
"I am going to take a couple of classes this summer so I can get done in December. That will keep me from being able to go too far for camps. I'll probably go to a couple that are around here."
