Junior to Watch: Kellen Heard
School: Wharton, Texas

Position: Offensive Tackle and Defensive Tackle
Size and Speed: Heard is 6-foot-6 and 335-pounds. He has been clocked in the 40-yard dash at 4.90 seconds.
Statistics: During his time on the defensive side of the ball, Heard recorded 77 tackles, including 19 for losses. He also had 2.5 quarterback sacks.
Honors: Heard was named first-team all-district as a defensive tackle. He was also named honorable mention all-state for his play.
Favorite Schools: Heard is still holding a scholarhsip offer from Texas A&M. Other schools showing interest include Texas, Texas Tech, Kansas and Iowa.
Skinny: "There have been a lot of schools showing interest," Heard's coach Russell Roberts said. "A&M is still the only scholarship offer he has. But no commitments yet."
Despite the offer from Dennis Franchione's team, don't expect a quick decision.
"Kellen likes A&M, but he's going to take his time with this. He wants to wait and see what all comes along."
Heard plays both sides of the ball and is receiving attention for both ways according to Roberts.
"I believe he can handle either side of the ball in college," he said. "The schools I have talked to are confident he can go either way too. Some of them put him at defense first, but he'll be fine either way."
