Texas lineman getting attention

Carrollton (Texas) Newman Smith offensive lineman Tyson Holligan is getting some early interest from several Division I-A schools, according to his coach.
"(Holligan) is getting attention from Alabama, Arkansas, Texas Tech, TCU, Kansas State and SMU," Newman Smith coach Mark Copeland said. "SMU is pretty involved with him. They are really trying to keep people from the area at home and they are identifying players they like and really working on them."

Holligan played both ways at the end of the season for Copeland's team and that is something that may happen more for the 6-foot-3, 310-pounder this year.
"Tyson played some defensive tackle for us toward the end of the season," Copeland said. "We'll use him there more this year. He made some really nice plays when he was in there. He is a big cat who can run.
Where does Copeland see Holligan playing in college?
"I think he will probably be a defensive tackle in college," Copeland said. "He's played offensive line for us the past two seasons and he's done a fine job."
Despite the early interest, he is still waiting on his first official offer.
"But he will," Copeland said. "Schools will notice his size and quickness. If he goes both ways, he'll be out there on the field a lot and he's going to get a lot of plays."
