Texas linebacker has clear leader

Lewisville (Texas) Hebron athlete Lewis Baker is starting to collect quite a few offers.
“I’ve just got a couple more offers in the past week,” Baker said. "I now have offers from Vanderbilt, Arkansas, UCLA, Boston College, Missouri, SMU, TCU and Oklahoma State.”

“My favorite teams right now are Notre Dame, Vanderbilt and Arkansas," the 6-foot-3, 200 pound linebacker said. “I’m looking for a school that is strong academically and though I’m undecided about my major, the school will have to have a good program for what I eventually choose.”
Though Lewis names three favorites, from the tone of his voice, one team stands out.
“Yeah, if Notre Dame was to offer me at their camp, I would probably accept it,” Baker said. "I head to a Notre Dame camp on Jun. 14, so right now all my focus is on making a good showing there and hopefully get an offer from the Irish.”
Schools still considering Baker are Vanderbilt, UCLA, Arkansas, Missouri, Boston College, Notre Dame, Texas, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU and SMU.
Baker has unofficially visited SMU, Texas A&M, Texas and TCU. Distance will not be a factor for him.
Baker totaled 135 tackles last season at both middle and outside linebacker, with nine and one-half sacks and five caused fumbles. He also saw action at tight end, where he caught 10 passes for about 200 yards and two touchdowns.
