Texas LB wants to leave state

After earning all-district honors as a tight end as a junior, it looks like one Rodrick Turner of Huntsville, Texas, might end up projecting as an outside linebacker on the next level.
“I want to play linebacker,” Turner, who is 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, said. “I’m a physical player that just goes out there and gets it done.”

Turner, who has a 4.6-second time in the 40-yard dash and a 245-pound bench press, is already starting to get college attention. He’s been receiving regular mail from LSU, TCU, Nebraska, Missouri and Texas A&M. He’s yet to earn a scholarship offer, but he knows what he’s looking for when it comes time to make a decision.
“I’m going to look really hard at academics,” Turner said. “I want to see if the school has the majors that I’m interested in. I also want to play in a hot climate on natural grass and most likely I would like to get out of state.”
