Texas LB staying near home

Spring (Texas) Westfield linebacker Chris Mitchell had previously given a verbal commitment to Central Michigan but that changed this weekend when he changed his pledge and will be staying closer to home.
"Chris had committed to Central Michigan," Westfield coach Corby Meekins said. "But, then the chance to play a little closer to home was one he didn't want to pass up.

"He has now committed to play for Houston and he will be signing with them on Wednesday."
Mitchell had offers from SMU and Western Michigan before the offer came from the Cougars. He also had interest from Georgia Tech, Texas Tech, Texas State and Kansas prior to making his decision.
