Texas LB recovering from injury

Bellville, Texas linebacker Garrett Dornon was ready for a good senior season. Then the injury bug bit.
"He tore his ACL in the first half of the first game," Dornon's mother Nancy said. "He had surgery on September 9 and has been rehabbing since then three times a week."

Dornon had gotten off to a good start when he went down.
"I had nine tackles in the first half and a touchdown," Dornon said. "Then that was it. I was done."
The Dornon family made some recruiting trips during the summer, including some unofficial trips to schools.
"We went to Kansas State this summer," Dornon said. "We got to meet the coaches there and talk to them. It was a good time. We also went to Vanderbilt to see their school this summer."
Several unofficial trips this fall have allowed Dornon to view some games in person.
"I went to two games at A&M, one at Rice and one at TCU."
Dornon is still talking with coaches from schools and is eager to move along with the recruiting process.
"I don't have any official trips set up, yet. I'll wait until our season is over to do that. I have one scholarship offer right now, Rice."
