Texas LB readying for visits

Arlington (Texas) Martin linebacker Chase Ellis is working on deciding which schools will get his official visits.
"Chase had scholarship offers from Army and Air Force," Ellis' father said. "But the nine-year commitment is too much at this time. Other schools are interested in Chase coming to visit them."

Those schools include Iowa State, Baylor Houston, SMU and TCU.
"He will most likely visit Iowa State, Baylor and Houston. His coach has told us after this weekend, the speed will pick up and things will move a little quicker. We expect the visits to be lined up before too long."
Another school had interest in the 6-foot-3, 220-pound Ellis, but not enough to commit a scholarship to him.
"Coach Venables at Oklahoma wanted him to come to Norman and walk-on for the first year. But with others offering scholarships that probably won't be the direction we go."
Ellis was recently named to the West squad for the North Texas All-Star game.
