Texas LB picks up three more offers

Irving (Texas) MacArthur linebacker Justin Gent picked up three early scholarship offers and the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder has added three more during the May evaluation period.
"Kansas State, Iowa State and Oklahoma State had offered me scholarships early on," Gent said. "Then since the coaches could start calling, I have gotten offers from Utah, Indiana and Kansas."

The phone has been busy in the Gent household this month.
"I have gotten calls from Utah, Indiana, Iowa State and Oklahoma State. I've also talked to Kansas State. I called them before the calling period began. So, I've talked to coaches from those five schools."
No one school has emerged as the favorite at this point for Gent.
"I like all of them equal. I'd say maybe K-State and Oklahoma State are toward the top. I've been to Oklahoma State already and I like their campus and facilities. And K-State has been recruiting me for a while. Eric Childs is from my school and he is going up there this fall. K-State was the first to offer me, so that means a lot to me."
Gent has not set a date for making a final decision.
"This summer, I will go by a few places. I'd like to commit early, but I won't rush it. If I find the right place, I'll do it, though. I'm going to go to camps at Iowa State, Oklahoma State, TCU, SMU and Kansas State. That will give me the chance to see those schools first hand."
As a junior, Gent recorded 127 tackles, five quarterback sacks, one interception and four fumble recoveries.
