Texas LB now ready for recruiting

Spring (Texas) Westfield linebacker Chris Mitchell saw his season come to an end last weekend. With the 2004 campaign completed, Mitchell can now turn his focus to recruiting and try and determine which schools he will visit.
"There is absolutely nothing new, yet," the 6-foot-1, 215-pound Mitchell said. "I don't have any visits set up. Our season just ended. We came up short in the championship game. I'm trying to get recovered from that. I'm just kind of getting back into recruiting right now.

"I don't have any visits scheduled or anything. I think after the holidays, I'll get all of that set up. I need to get back in touch with the coaches and kind of get back up to speed with them as to where we sit."
Mitchell's list of schools calling his house hasn't had much activity.
"I really don't have any schools in mind to visit, yet. I'll pick which ones after I visit with my family. Kansas, Kansas State, Central Michigan and SMU are wanting more film and my test scores to make sure everything is in line and to show the entire coaching staff."
Mitchell has played linebacker and safety this year for Westfield, and he doesn't claim a preference in college.
"The coaches want to see if I can make the change from linebacker to strong safety. I've already kind of got the mindset to be a safety, so it shouldn't be a problem for me if that is what someone wants me to do."
