Texas LB may go different route

Houston, Texas linebacker Brett Kelley said, “I’ve been hearing lately from Texas, Texas A&M and Colorado, but my grades aren’t quite high enough, so I will be going to junior college.”
Among the schools he is looking at are Kilgore Junior College and Tyler Junior College.

“I plan on going to junior college for two years and then try again at the division one level."
“I didn’t really have a favorite college yet this season,” Kelley said, “so when I get out in two years, I’ll be open again.”
Kelley is enrolling pretty much on his own, as no college team is helping place him.
The 6-foot-3, 215 pound linebacker had a fine season this year, earning all-district honors at linebacker. His team went 8-3, with a loss in the second round of the playoffs.
