Texas LB makes soft verbal

The last major prospect to come out of talented Houston-area high school Alief (Texas) Taylor was five-star tight end Martellus Bennett who was rated as the top player at his position in the entire country that year.
Now in 2007, outside linebacker/safety prospect Cheta Ozougwu is the next big prospect on the scene. Ozougwu picked up two early offers from Tulane and Louisiana Tech. He didn't wait long to make a commitment, but he's not down with the process just yet.

"I committed to Tulane last Tuesday actually," Ozougwu said. "Tulane is like the Rice of Louisiana and they're one of the best private schools in the country. Plus, they wanted me to play football, so i had to jump on it."
Ozogwu has been receiving heavy interest from TCU and Texas Tech. The talented defender says that both schools could offer very soon.
'TCU is close and my coach says that Tech should be offering soon as well," Ozougwu said. "I actually went to the TCU camp in Katy just a little while ago. I didn't work out, but I got to hang out with the coaches. They really made me feel welcome there."
Ozougwu was supposed to take a visit to Louisana Tech today, but was unable to make the trip. He's looking at a few others.
"I'm supposed to go to TCU unofficially," he said. "They might have summer workouts that I might want to go to. I'm supposed to go to Tulane some time in September for an official visit.
"Like I said, I'm committed right now, but I'll keep my options open."
