Texas LB looks toward bright fall season

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - One of the "bigger" prospects at the linebacker position for the state of Texas this year is undoubtedly Kingwood (Texas) prospect, the 6-foot-5, 220-pound Clint Leal, that towers over the competition any way you slice it.
Leal, a second-team all-district selection was on hand to support his team at the Fox Sports Net Southwest 7-on-7 state championship this past weekend but could only support on the sidelines due to an injury over the summer. However, the built defender is optimistic about his team's efforts translating into success in the fall.

"I think our team's doing great over the summer," Leal said. "There is great offense and defense. It hurts being out of it for a while because I really hate being sidelined. But, I think this tournament help us as a passing team."
"With a shotgun team, you need to be able to excel at stuff like this."
Aside from his team's off season, Leal is also seeing his recruitment pick up a bit especially from some bigger in-state schools.
"I've talked to Texas A&M and they said they're looking at me right now," Leal said. "They seem pretty interested and I'm also interested in UT as well. I want to stay in the state if I can."
His first offer has yet to come, but Leal stated that if the offer was from out-of-state first, he may wait on an early commitment. However, if not things would be different.
"If an in-state offer comes, it would be hard for me not to jump on it," he said. "My parents love Texas A&M and would like me to go there, but time will tell on all of that."
Oklahoma State, Houston, and Ole Miss are also showing interest in Leal.
