Oklahoma has recently offered as well.
He is still hearing from Alabama, Nebraska, Southern Methodist, Minnesota, Texas Christian, Iowa State, Ohio State, West Virginia, Kentucky, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Arizona, Arizona State, Penn State, and Brigham Young. As well as letters from Northwestern, Notre Dame, Southern Mississippi, North Texas State, Purdue, Kansas, Georgia Tech, Texas Tech, Memphis State, Duke, Wisconsin, Florida, UCLA, Miami of Florida, Colorado State, Army, Navy and New Mexico. Oregon and Oregon State have recently joined the list of schools sending recruiting letters.
He is looking at the academics and environment or atmosphere of the school. "I want to feel like home when I get there," Marvin said.
"My top four would probably be Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi State and LSU," Byrdsong said. But he stated that Mississippi State would be one of his two top choices, as his brother goes there. His other top school is Texas, as it is close to home and his mom likes Texas too.
He has an official visit set up with Nebraska on October 27th for the Oklahoma game. He does not list Nebraska as one of his top four schools, but ''they invited me, so I decided to go for the visit.''
Mississippi State will probably get another unofficial visit from him. "I can visit Mississippi State anytime, as I have a brother there."
His decision will be made by ''the deadline.''
"My role model is Ray Lewis on the field, so that's the style of play, that I try to play."
