Michael Terry was one of the biggest dominoes still on the board in this 2025 recruiting class as the Early Signing Period approached.

Three weeks short of National Signing Day, the top-100 ATH from Texas is off the board.

Terry, the No. 89 overall player in the Rivals250 out of San Antonio (Texas) Alamo Heights High School, committed to Texas. Oregon and Nebraska finished behind the in-state Longhorns for the 6-foot-3, 215-pound multi-dimensional offensive playmaker from down I-35.

"The connection we have ... they keep in touch with me a lot and it's close," Terry told Rivals earlier this fall of his connections with the Longhorns' coaching staff.

Multiple coaches on both sides of the recruited the in-state ATH. Steve Sarkisian, AJ Milwee, and Chris Gilbert all played strong roles in Texas separating from the Ducks and Huskers this fall.

The four-star ATH was on campus in July, September, October, and again in November for games on the Forty Acres.

"Sark and Gilbert stay in contact with him -- like Milwee -- and they're doing the things that show you that they want him there," Terry's father, Michael Terry II,
said of Texas. "It's not always about where you want to go; it's about who wants you to be there. They really want him there and he narrowed it down because he can tell that they really want him."

"Texas makes him feel like a priority," added Terry. "He understands that and gives them the same respect back."

That's been a theme throughout the four-star ATH's recruitment.

"I get to go to the games and see how they play and see how they coach over there," Terry said. "They're showing me how they see me, how they can develop me as a player over there, and how I'd fit in the program."
