Texas kicker makes pledge
Odessa, Texas, kicker Ryan Havens was offered a scholarship from Baylor three weeks ago and after talking the decision over with his parents, he’s made a decision.
A decision to commit to the Bears.

Havens said he feels that Baylor will be a good fit for him.
“The coaches seemed real nice in the way that they approached me,” Havens said. “I liked the facilities when I went to their camp and you can’t beat the education.”
Havens said that Army and Oklahoma State were interested from the get go and are still pursuing him but he is solid on his commitment to kick for the Bears.
Havens has started off the season strong hitting 17 of 19 PAT’s and ½ on field goals.
Havens is rated as a three-star recruit by Rivals100.com and the 15th best kicker in the nation.
