Recruiting is not a science, it's an art. There are hits and misses and locks that bust. However, no position is tougher to predict than the success of a kicker. For that reason, kicker scholarships are hard to come by and are often contingent on other positions of need. At Keller (Texas) Fossil Ridge, Chris Boswell is proving that he is worthy of one of those rare kicker scholarships.
Fossil Ridge head coach Tony Baccarini has been fortunate enough to have Boswell's sure leg on his side since Boswell's freshman year.
"[Boswell] has no offers yet and I do not see how he is not the best kicker in the country," Baccarini said. "He is two-time all-state in Texas. He has scored 271 points in varsity competition. He is 172 for 172 on extra points. He is 33 of 36 on field goals. In one game he kicked a 41, 43 and 47 yarder."

Not only is Boswell accurate but Baccarini has full confidence in his kicker's ability in the clutch as well.
"He is ice water," he said. "He's been kicking game-winners since his freshman year."
Baccarini has had his fair share of talent at Fossil Ridge including last year's top defensive end in the nation R.J. Washington. Washington was selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and came away from the game with similar confidence in Boswell.
"When R.J. came off the practice field he said 'Boswell is much better than any of these kickers'," said the coach. "He's an NFL player."
Currently Boswell is being recruited by Missouri, Kansas State, Texas A&M and some other Big 12 level programs.
