Texas intrigues 2015 RB

Kirk Johnson loves Texas football because his father, Johnnie, played there before an extensive career in the NFL and the 2015 running back said he's a huge fan of the program.
The San Jose (Calif.) Valley Christian running back has already taken a trip to Austin and after putting up major numbers in his junior season is hopeful the Longhorns could come through with an offer.

Early on, Texas is definitely one of the favorites.
"I was born and raised Texas because of my dad," Johnson said. "It's definitely what I like. The coaching staff was great, I loved the campus and the weather, everything about it. I grew up with Texas football. I'm a fan."
The 6-foot, 200-pound running back is interested in Texas but Pac-12 programs are also getting involved in his recruitment.
Johnson took unofficial visits to Cal and Washington this season and said he was impressed by both places. Utah is also recruiting him and he said USC has reached out a little as well.
"Cal was good," Johnson said. "I enjoyed it. I saw them I think their first week. It was a great visit but I also like their education over there. They have a lot of great programs which also matters a lot to me. I really like that a lot.
"At Washington I went there a little over a month ago. It was good. I kind of wish I could have seen more. I went over there right after a game so it was kind of rushed but I liked the staff. I definitely loved the stadium and the fans."
No offers have come in yet but Johnson is hopeful. After college coaches see his junior film and then hear about his performances this off-season, things could definitely pick up.
"It's still a little early," Johnson said. "I know for sure I'll have some at the end of the season. I'm not really worried about it because I know they'll come."
