Texas DT thinking about four trips

Things in James McClinton’s world are about as good as it gets. The three-star defensive tackle is getting a ton of calls from the college coaches and he helped his team pitch a shutout in its season opener.
“I can’t believe how great things are going,” the 6-foot-1, 289-pound McClinton said. “I’m really excited about how we’re doing on the field. We won 37-0 last week. We’ve got Molina this week. They blew North Dallas out last week, but we’re not going to let that happen to us. I had five tackles in the first game and I didn’t get any sacks, but that was because they only threw the ball once.”

On the recruiting front, McClinton has received September calls from Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, Iowa, Baylor, Oklahoma State and SMU.
“They’re just talking to me about what they’re offering and about how good they think I could be at their school,” he said. “Right now, I’m just listening and thinking about what school is going to offer me the right situation in the future.”
McClinton said he does have a few schools that he’d like to visit in mind, but he said he’s not lined up any visits to this point.
“I want to visit K-State, Kansas, Iowa State, Iowa for sure,” he said. “After that I’d have to think about Arizona, Arizona State and Oklahoma State. I guess I’m still pretty open to all options.”
McClinton has scholarship offers from Kansas, Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor and Louisiana Tech.
