Texas DT stays in state

Huntsville, Texas defensive tackle Adam Ayala took his third official visit this weekend. The first two trips took the three-star prospect out of the state, but this one kept him in the Lone Star State.
"The visit to UTEP went really good," the 6-foot-5, 253-pound Ayala said. "I ended up committing on Sunday. The coaches were really excited about me doing that. I'm excited about playing there, too."

Ayala, the No. 83 ranked defensive tackle, delivered the bad news to the other schools on Sunday as well.
"I have called the other schools already. They were disappointed. I had been talking to them for several months. Colorado State and Louisiana Tech were the ones I had to call and let them know I wasn't coming."
There wasn't one thing that caused Ayala to commit to the Miners.
"It wasn't just one thing. It was a combination. I really like the academic programs, the coaching staff, the facilities and I have family over there too. It will be a good fit for me all the way around."
