Texas DT making a big decision

Sugar Land (Texas) Kempner defensive tackle George Randall has a decision to make with a few different types of options on the table.
While receiving a Division I offer from UTEP, head coach Mike Ferrell says that while he may have some trouble qualifying, there are certain options that he is looking to pursue.

"He's going to have some struggles, so he's looking at a Proposition 48 deal with UTEP or Blinn (Junior College)," Ferrell said. "As far as I know, he hasn't made a decision on those yet. Of course he can double sign if he chooses UTEP because they allow the Prop 48."
Ferrell says that regardless of whether he elects for the Proposition 48 rule, which would allow him attend school for a year and not participate in athletics, he should grow into a very solid player.
"He's a young man that didn't play a lot of football so he had a lot of grown on that aspect physically," Ferrell said. "He's 6-foot-6, but he's only weighing around 260 and I imagine he'll be up near 315. He's learning the game and will continue to learn the game for several years."
"I will say that he definitely has a strong upside."
The decision for Randall will be coming between now and National Signing Day on Feb. 1.
