Ft. Worth Wyatt defensive tackle Quintin Echols has made a surprise decision with his commitment.
Despite lining up visits with Colorado, Washington, Oklahoma State Georgia Tech and getting attention from others, Echols has committed to Kansas State.

"Coach Peterson visited with me on Thursday and offered me a scholarship," Echols, who is 6-foot-2 and 300 pounds, said.
"After he visited, I was 80 percent sure that I was going to commit because it's such a great school. I wanted to be sure, though. So I talked it over with my mother on Saturday and decided to commit."
Echols, who has been clocked at 4.9-seconds in the 40-yard dash and has a 380-pound bench-press, said he is now complete with the recruiting process and will only visit K-State next weekend.
K-State fans will also like to know that Echols is the cousin of former Wildcat great Joe Gordon.
"That played a role," Echols said.
"I talked to him about Bill Snyder and he said I needed to go play for him because I will learn how to be a man."
