Texas DT gets first call
Hallsville, Texas, defensive tackle Fred Jackson is a target for college coaches. And he's received his first call from college coaches.
Minnesota is the first team to call the house of Jackson after the Sept 1 contact period. Jackson is 6-foot-4, 285 pounds and carries an 85-grade average in the classroom.
Baylor, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Louisiana Tech are some schools that have shown interest, but Minnesota is the first to make official contact. Jackson mad three tackles in the season opener against Mt. Pleasant, a game that Hallsville won 24-17.
