Texas DL picks up 1st offer

Defensive tackle Zane Tomlin, who is from Clark High School in San Antonio, Texas has received his first official offer today.
"The Colorado coach that has been recruiting Zane, called today," Zane's father, Jim Tomlin said. "Gary Barnett and the other coaches had just got out of a meeting and anyway, John Wrestin, on behalf of the Colorado Buffaloes, officially offered Zane a full scholarship."

The offers appear to be just starting for this 6-foot-4, 276 pound defensive tackle, who just recently completed the Texas A&M Nike camp and had a 20-yard shuttle (pro-agility) time of an impressive 4.38 seconds.
"The Baylor coach said that they are going to offer this week," Zane's dad said. "The Illinois coach called and said that he has some news for Zane." His dad believes that they are about to offer.
It doesn't stop there.
Arizona told his high school coach that they will be offering sometime within the next two weeks.
"Oregon may like him," his dad said, "and he likes Oregon. They are supposed to be down sometime next week (to see his coach)."
It looks like most schools are liking the film that they see.
North Carolina flew in and it looks like a "guaranty" that they will be offering too. "The Baylor coach said that they are going to offer. They have lost some defensive tackles and he could possibly start right away there. Notre Dame was here yesterday (Friday) and they are going back to decide about him. He has just started hearing from New Mexico and Wyoming. He likes Oklahoma."
His dad siad that he has not made up his mind, but that Colorado has a clear lead right now with Oregon right behind them.
Tomlin's camp schedule is filling up. He will be attending the summer camp at Arizona for two days starting Jun. 10 and "then he goes to Colorado for a one day camp on June 15th." After Colorado, they plan on making an unofficial trip to Eugene, Oregon to see their campus and visit the coaches there. On the way back home, they will stop off at Kansas and Oklahoma.
Zane has been working hard on the weights. His quat is now 540 pounds and his maximum bench has risen to 420 pounds. "He did 360 pounds (bench) four times just the other day."
