Texas DE working on better effort

One of the most physically impressive looking players in the state of Texas is also starting to make more and more noise on the recruiting front. Dallas Carter defensive end Ryan Johnson said he’s got an impressive list of offers with a newcomer creeping into the mix.
“I’ve been getting a ton of mail from Miami here in the last few weeks,” Johnson, who is 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds, said.

“I already have been getting a lot of stuff from Arizona, Kansas State, Texas A&M and Kansas, but Miami has been talking to me a lot lately.”
Johnson, who is built like a future NFL prospect but is lethargic on film, said he has scholarship offers from Arizona, Kansas State and Kansas in his top group. He said he’s not in a real rush to make any kind of college decision and is focused on making his senior season much better than his junior.
“I’m never happy,” he said. “And that’s why I want to do my best as a senior. Practices have been kind of easy, so I’m working harder to get better – working hard and doing the extra stuff. I think I’m making a better effort.”
A better effort from Johnson could turn him into an elite recruit and boost his stock with college coaches.
