Texas DE will feel family pull

Denton (Texas) Ryan defensive end Jarvis Moss has four official visits lined up, but there is one major factor that will play into his decision.

"He is really liking Miami," Moss' grandfather William Moss said. "He's been sitting on them for a long time. But I'm not too hip on him ending up there. That and those schools down there are just too far away for his family to watch him. We just couldn't make it there."
Moss did not know the dates of his grandson's official visits, but didn't doubt the fact that four were set up.
"I talked to his coach the other day and he said he would continue to keep us up to date on things. He didn't go through the schools that were lined up to visit or anything."
At this time, the 6-foot-7, 220-pounder is set to visit Oklahoma (Dec. 13), Florida (Jan. 10), Miami (Jan. 17) and Florida State (Jan. 24). Several schools are fighting for what would be his last visit.
"Texas, Michigan, Colorado and Texas A&M call quite a bit. They're all right there in the mix of it all. Miami and Oklahoma call quite often too."
Moss did take in this year's Red River Shootout in Dallas.
"Jarvis went to the game in Dallas between Texas and Oklahoma. He said he had a good time at it."
Moss did not have any insight as to his grandson's future decision, but he said he would certainly have some input in the final call.
"He lives here with us most of the time. We'll be able to talk to him some about it. I'm sure he'll be close to home when it all comes down to it."
