Texas DE took first trip last weekend

Arlington (Texas) Lamar defensive end Gartrell Cooper is back from his visit to Michigan State and while the Spartans have emerged as the leader, there are other schools not far behind.
Cooper said good things about the visit and was able to catch the Spartans’ game against Wisconsin this past weekend.

“It was a really fun and good experience,” Cooper said.
“We watched the basketball and football game. Unfortunately, they lost but I got to have dinner with the coaches. We talked about recruiting and my progress this season.”
Cooper is currently holding five offers and has all four of his remaining visits scheduled.
The offers are from Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Michigan State, Utah and Missouri. He has tentatively scheduled visits with Texas A&M, Missouri, Utah and Oklahoma State.
Cooper lists his top five as Michigan State, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Utah and Texas A&M.
He doesn’t plan on committing until he has finished taking his visits.
“I’m going to wait until after the Texas A&M visit to make my decision,” Cooper said.
He is currently enjoying success on the football field with an 8-0 record and some impressive statistics despite missing some action due to an appendectomy that he had done last week.
“I’ve got 29 tackles, five of them for a loss, seven hurries, two fumbles caused, three recoveries, four sacks, three knocked down passes and one interception,” Cooper said.
Cooper said that he will be back in action this Friday night to help Lamar continue their winning streak. He is currently ranked a two-star prospect by Rivals100.com.
