Texas DE takes Florida trip

After taking home NIKE Camp MVP honors in College Station, the 6-foot-2, 231-pound defensive end Jacody Coleman is feeling his recruiting process heat up.
There is still just one offer in hand from Iowa State, but the talented defender is looking for more. Coleman was in Florida this past week and his coach convinced him to take a trip to check out the University of Florida. An offer isn't on the table yet from the Gators, but Coleman says that they're close and are one of his early leaders.

"It was nice out there," Coleman said. "I got to meet the recruiting coach but the others were out on the road at the NIKE Camp. I gave coach Greg Mattison a call and he wants to see me in person at their camp before they offer."
Coleman says there could be more offers in his hand after the NIKE Camp, but hasn't had a chance to check the mail after being gone this past week.
"LSU has sent a lot of text messages, some from OSU have come, and a coach from Texas A&M came by our school," he said. "TCU and Florida are coming on pretty hard."
His two favorites are now Florida and LSU.
"That's who I like right now," he said. "We'll see what happens with the offers and everything. Those two are above everybody else though in my mind."
Coleman was a first-team all-district selection as a junior.
