Texas DE returns from first visit

Lufkin, Texas defensive end McKinner Dixon had committed to Texas A&M earlier this month, but now he is continuing the recruiting process and took his first official visit over the weekend.
“I went to Washington State over the weekend,” the 6-foot-3, 240-pound Dixon said. “I had a real good time. It is a good situation up there for a player like me. They are looking for defensive players with speed and that is one thing I have. I think I could find a way into the mix early on.”

Dixon was accompanied on the visit by teammates Jorvorskie Lane and Alton Dixon.
“I think they enjoyed it, too,” he said. “I just think that is a long way away, so I’m not all that sure it is a school I would end up going to.”
The visit was the first for the three-star rated Dixon. The second visit is coming up this week.
“I’m going to Texas Tech this weekend,” he said. “I’m looking forward to that trip, too. I want to check some things out and visit with coaches and players. I think it will be a good visit and the game should be a good one, too between them and Texas.”
Dixon also has visits scheduled with Kansas State and Nebraska.
“I’m planning on visiting them the weekends of Dec. 10 and Dec. 17. I’m still not sure what my last visit will be. I want to get them all taken before I make a decision, now.”
