"I just got an offer from Rice," Brown said. "I got that when I went there for their junior day. My buddy, Jeremy Phillips was with me and he got one at the same time."
Barry says the interest and offer from the Owls has pushed the in-state school up on his list.
"It sounds good because Rice is No. 1 in Texas academically," Barry said. "Rice is on top so far because they're my only offer. I get a lot of mail from some other schools though."
Some of those other schools include Kansas State, Duke, Colorado, and SMU.
"Kansas State has been text messaging me and I've text messaged back and forth with Duke," Barry said. "I got a handwritten letter from Colorado recently and I called the coach that's recruiting me, the linebackers coach (Brian Cabral.
"SMU also says they're real interested in me so I guess we're going up there. They invited me to come to their spring game this Saturday."
