Texas DE ready for calls

Dallas (Texas) Jesuit defensive end Sean Carney is looking forward to the opening of the contact period which begins Sept. 1.
“Everything is the same,” the 6-foot-2, 233-pound Carney said. “Nothing has happened. I’m looking forward to the phone calls. I want to hear what they have to say. It should be a good time.”

Carney has two schools that stay in touch the most.
“Iowa State and Maryland send the most information,” he said. “There is something there about every day from them. I think they’ll both call me early on.”
Four schools have offered scholarships to Carney. Baylor, Wyoming, Louisiana-Monroe and SMU have invited him to join their team.
Carney and his teammates opened their season last week.
“We started last Friday,” he said. “I don’t know what my stats were. But, I do know we won. We beat one of the top ranked teams in the state, Coppell. I felt like I did really well. It was kind of a revenge game. Last year they won 52-14. This year we won 28-17
Our defense had two picks and one went for a touchdown. We played pretty good on defense. Their points came against our second team defense.”
