Texas DE pulls the trigger

Midlothian, Texas defensive end Michael Autwell recently went to check out Louisiana-Monroe and the first scholarship offer from the out-of-state school followed after that. On Monday, the Lone Star State prospect had his mind made up.
"Yes sir, I'm going to ULM," Autwell said. "I did that yesterday. I liked the campus and all of it - the school, the coaches, the football team, and everything."

Autwell was being recruited by coach Luke Wells. Having the decision of the way is something that the 6-foot-4, 213-pounder is happy about.
"It's just a lot easier and I don't have to worry about it," Autwell said. "I like to know where I'm going. I guess you could say that I like to have my future planned."
Autwell says that the coaches have told him that everybody gets the opportunity to compete for a spot when arriving on campus.
"If I do make third string, I could have the choice to red shirt or play in spots during the game," Autwell said. "They just told me that everybody will have a chance to tryout for a position."
Aside from a few more camps this summer that Autwell had already made plans to attend, he says that he doesn't see himself looking at other options.
"I'm pretty solid with my decision," he said. "I like it a lot."
