Texas DE picks up first offer

Killeen (Texas) Shoemaker defensive end/outside linebacker prospect Brandon Joiner has been a busy young man. After taking in junior days at Texas and Texas A&M, he is taking in a string of camps and combines over the next several months. In the process, he picked up his first offer.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder is getting looks for both the defensive line and linebacker spots. The first offer came from Oklahoma State last week and with the opportunity to play both positions there, his excitement was through the roof.

"Oh I got the offer last Wednesday and I was so happy, I started calling up my coaches, called my mom and everything," Joiner said about the Cowboys' offer. "I like that program. They seem real nice up there. I called coach Doug Meacham after I got it and he just told me they could see me playing at different positions.
"I prefer defensive end, but it really will depend on how much weight I gain."
His favorites not only include the Cowboys, but also Miami and Texas.
"Texas has been my favorite school for a while and I like how they treat their athletes there," Joiner said about the Longhorns. "Oklahoma State has a great athletic program and Miami has had great recruiting classes."
The trips to the Texas and Texas A&M junior days also were trips well worth it.
"I got to meet the head coaches at both schools and see all of their facilities," Joiner said. "Texas A&M may be offering me too pretty soon. It's hard to say about Texas. They may be waiting on me for a while."
Joiner says he possibly could be attending the NIKE Combine in Houston, Texas and the NIKE Training Camp in College Station on April 22.
