Texas DE closing in on 25 offers

At 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds and 4.6 speed in the 40, it's easy to see why Brayden Burnett out of Southlake (Texas) Carroll has been a popular figure among college coaches. The defensive end is entering the summer at close to 25 scholarship offers after what has been a busy spring.
"I'm at almost 25," Burnett said of his offers. "My first offer came in maybe February or March and then they gradually came in one here and one there and then lately they've really started coming."

With all of the offers on his plate, Burnett is planning on spending a good bit of the summer narrowing down his list and working towards a commitment.
"I'm still pretty open minded," he said. "I know any day a school could offer and totally change my mind. My mother works for an airline so we've got some flight benefits there and right now I've lined up visits."
Who is on the list of summer visits for the dominating end?
"Tomorrow I'm actually going to Colorado," he said on Monday evening. "I'm going to Missouri, Arizona State and Michigan. Those are my planned visits now and I'm also thinking about California and Arkansas as well as Wisconsin."
The diverse list of schools does carry a few similarities that Burnett is looking for out of a program.
"I'm just looking for that great coaching staff and that great program that can be my home away from home," he said. "I feel they're all good schools and distance doesn't really matter."
Though Burnett admits that he does want to play in a major conference, he doesn't care which of the major conferences it is. He also hopes to have a decision before his season.
"I would like to decide in hopefully June or July," he said. "Definitely in the summer. I'd like to put it all away. It's great to look forward to the next year after high school but I'm still with the team I'm on now so I gotta focus on that."
