Texas DE attracting interest from schools

Sugar Land (Texas) Austin defensive end Shane Jarka has several schools showing interest as he prepares for his final season of high school football.
"Shane is just a great kid," Austin coach Tom Stuart said. "He has great potential to be a really good player at the next level. He has several schools sending him mail and information already."

The list of schools in touch with the 6-foot-3, 235-pounder include Notre Dame, Northwestern, TCU, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas State, Missouri and Texas.
"He doesn't have any offers, yet," Stuart said. "I think they'll come. He's going to a couple camps this summer and he'll just get better as he plays another season.
"Shane is a very aggressive player. He is very intense and has a good knowledge of the game. He is a middle linebacker for us. He is our leader on defense. If he gets much bigger, he'll probably play defensive end.
On tap for camps this summer include trips to TCU and SMU. Jarka will also participate in the Fort Worth NIKE camp in late April.
As a junior, Jarka recorded 82 tackles, two quarterback sacks, one fumble recovery and one interception.
