Texas DE a new one to watch

It doesn’t happen every day, but every so often a new name pops up on the recruiting charts. Once such name is Marcus Jones, a 6-foot-4, 245-pound defensive end from Klein, Texas, that is receiving recruiting calls from national powers LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Miami and UCLA.
Jones, who is in his second-year as a varsity starter, has made 42 tackles and six sacks this season.

His sack total is impressive, especially for a true defensive end, a position that many top colleges can never have enough depth at.
“We have a good defense,” Jones explained of his ability to get to the passer. “We do what we’re supposed to do and that frees us up to be successful.”
Jones has yet to receive an official scholarship offer. However, with so many calls, his first offer is bound to happen sooner, rather than later. But when it happens, he won’t exactly be a new name to recruiting fans, will he?
