Size and Speed: is Erik Mayes 5–foot-10 and 175 pounds. He has a 40-yard dash time of 4.4 seconds.
Statistics: Erik Mayes did not have his statistics available right now, but he helped his team to a 9-3 record as a junior.
Honors: He received quite a few honors playing as a junior last season. He was named his district's most valuable player. Also, he made first team all-district as a defensive back, second team all-district receiver and second team all-district kick returner.
Favorite Schools: He is hearing from "LSU, Colorado, Iowa, Iowa State, Alabama, Texas and Texas A&M."
"Alabama and Iowa are sending the most mail, so they would be the hardest recruiting schools and Colorado is the leading candidate at this point."
He would like to make his official visits to:
Colorado - "The recruiting information sounds interesting."
LSU - "They would give me a chance of playing after red-shirting my freshman year."
Houston - "It's close to home."
Texas - "Good winning team and great defense."
Texas A&M - "They have lots of secondary players move on to the NFL."
Skinny: "My speed, field smarts, quickness, good reads and moves are my strong points." He described himself as "an emotional player."
He compares his style of play to retired professional football player, Deion Sanders.
"Distance will not be a factor, as I'll look for a good school for criminal justice and a winning team as the factors in my decision."
He plans to attend the Nike camp May 4 and will be involved in a seven on seven tournament this summer.
His dream school, if they offered would be Florida State.
