Texas DB still with two on top

Grand Prairie (Texas) South Grand Prairie defensive back Thomas Ferguson already has plenty of options for where to attend college. Already with Big 12 offers and interest from around the southwest, Ferguson is only gaining more interest as February approaches.
Are there any new offers to report?

"Yes, from Colorado State," Ferguson said. "I got that offer last week on Thursday. I am interested in them. They said they really liked my highlight tape and really liked the way I play."
Utah and Kansas remain the top two schools on Ferguson's list but he has had some increased interest in another Big 12 program as well.
"Oklahoma State is climbing up there," he said. "I'm starting to talk to them and like them a little bit more."
Whoever lands Ferguson will have their work cut out for them. The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder has set up one official visit and has plans for several more.
"I am taking my first visit on December 9 to Colorado," he said. "I talk to them pretty often. I just want to go up there and see the program. Coach Hawkins told me a lot about their defense and the directions it's going. I am excited to see it. I really want to see how things work up there."
Along with Colorado, Ferguson anticipates a busy official visit schedule.
"I really want to go to Kansas, Utah, Arizona and Oklahoma State," he said. "I'm not sure when I'll be taking those visits. After I take these visits, the school I feel most comfortable at will be where I go."
Due to his size and athleticism, Ferguson projects as a safety or a linebacker but his heart remains at safety, where he has always played.
"Most schools are recruiting me at safety and linebacker," he said. "I would much rather play safety. That's my favorite position and I have always played there. I honestly think I can hit pretty hard and I play with a lot of heart. So that's where I belong. I've been playing safety since I was a little kid."
The three-star prospect does not have any timeline for his commitment but hopes to make a decision after taking all of his visits.
