Texas DB picks in-state school

Mansfield (Texas) Summit cornerback Ramonte Harris had four interceptions as a junior, including one he brought back for a score. He also earned honorable mention all-district honors, so it's no surprise that schools were heavily recruiting him.
But the 5-foot-11, 165-pounder has decided to end the process after making a commitment late last week.

"I'm going to UTEP," Harris said.
"I really wanted to play somewhere in Conference USA, and I've wanted to go there for the longest time. I also really like the coaches. I was recruited by Tim Duffie, and I think he's a really cool guy. I also like Mike Price. I think he's a great person."
Harris said he impressed the Miner coaches this summer at one of their camps. He worked out at both receiver and corner, but he hopes to be a corner in college.
"They told me they want me at corner," he said.
"But when I was at camp, they had me line up at receiver, too. I did pretty good there, so it might be fun to play both ways, but I want to play corner in college for sure. I like the defensive side of the ball better."
