Texas DB lines up second visit

Baytown (Texas) Lee safety Charles Godfrey has slowly gathered more interest and he now has lined up his second official visit.
“I just recently lined up a visit with Missouri,” the 6-foot-1, 205-pound Godfrey said. “I am going to Columbia on Dec. 12. That is my second visit. I’m going to Iowa the week before.”

Both schools have extended scholarship offers to the two-star rated safety.
“Those two and Pitt have offered me,” he said. “But, I haven’t heard a lot out of Pitt for quite a while.”
Godfrey, the younger brother of Kansas State quarterback Ell Roberson, claims no favorite school.
“Iowa and Missouri are right up there,” he said. “K-State and Houston are both schools I am hearing from too. I’m kind of keeping my options open and checking things out on visits and I’ll go from there.”
Godfrey who played wide receiver early as a junior, has made the switch to safety and has no thoughts of looking back.
“I’m a defensive back now,” he said. “Coach Olin laughs when he tells me my hands aren’t made to be a receiver. He said I’m more of a guy to knock the ball down. It has been a god switch for me. Things are working well.”
