Texas center making the rounds

Plano (Texas) West offensive center Wes Simon has been a traveling man. With camp stops this summer at Oklahoma, SMU, Nebraska, Iowa, Iowa State, Texas A&M and Penn State, Simon has almost seen it all. And with quite a few scholarship offers already on the table, he's impressed almost everybody he comes in contact with.
"I feel like I did real well at the camps," Simon said. "At Penn State they kept having me demonstrate what they were trying to teach. So I think I did real well at everything. I ran a 5.03 40-yard dash and benched 410, so I improved in a lot of areas over the past few months."

"It's been a real good summer. I've been busy with a lot of camps and a lot of working out with the football team. I also have a job so I've been staying busy."
That's a major understatement.
Simon said he's also remained busy thinking about what his future holds.
"I'm definitely getting out of Texas," Simon said. "If any team in Texas offers me I am not going to go there. I either want to be out in the middle of nowhere in a secluded area or on the beach. It's an odd combination, but I live just outside of Dallas so it's a huge area where I live. I want to get away from that."
"My leaders right now are Colorado, Iowa State and Kansas. I want to play in the Big 10 or the Big 12, probably. If Penn State offers they'll definitely be in the mix of things. I don't want to commit just because of their football team and find out later I don't feel comfortable there."
When it comes time to make a decision, Simon has figured out a few things that will be key in his decision.
"Definitely the campus and obviously the football team will be important," he said. "I need to enjoy where I'm living, too, because we only play football for half of the year and the other half I need to be able to enjoy my time on campus and around town. So the football team, the campus, and the town are the three factors for me."
