Texas CB to visit Minnesota, Pitt

After deciding to play football for the first time as a senior, the sudden recruiting attention has caught Dallas Lincoln cornerback Lloyd Carrington a bit off guard. The 6-foot, 182-pound defender has seen offers come pouring in as of late with schools seeing his film for the first time.
Two northern programs had been showing heavy interest in the athletic Texan and both decided to extend offers recently, becoming the 14th and 15th teams to do so.

"Pittsburgh and Minnesota both offered me," Carrington said. "I had kind of figured they were going to but they both came through with offers a couple days ago. They called me and told me I was getting an offer."
With two of his five official visits remaining, Carrington will use both of them in the next few days.
"I leave for Minnesota tomorrow," he said on Tuesday evening. "I'll be there from Wednesday to Friday and then I'll fly from there to Pittsburgh. I'll be at Pittsburgh from Friday to Sunday. With only a week left before signing day I had to set them back to back like that.
"I haven't heard a lot about the facilities at either place so I'm looking to see those. I want to see if it's a place that I can be comfortable. I want to feel like I fit in with the coaches and the players at each school."
After previous trips to New Mexico and North Texas, Carrington visited a Conference USA program over the weekend and liked what he saw.
"I went to University of Houston this past weekend," he said. "It went well. I met with the players and coaches and everything. The facilities were nice too. You could tell they put a lot of money into them."
However, heading into his final two trips, Carrington does admit that one school could be considered his current leader.
"I'm liking Pittsburgh a lot," he said. "It's mainly because of their defensive scheme. They play really aggressive defense. As a cornerback I'd get a lot of action and have a chance to show off my skills."
With national signing day next Wednesday, the talented defender knows he must make a decision rather quickly.
"I'm going to sit down with my family and decide right after I get back from my trips this weekend," he said.
