Texas CB schedules first visit

Longview, Texas cornerback James Pierce was scheduled to take his first official visit in October, but a missing standardized test score prevented him from taking the trip. Now, with the initial test taking under his belt, is set to take his first official visit this weekend.
“I’m all scheduled to go to Texas Tech for their game this weekend,” the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Pierce said. “It was supposed to happen back in October when Corderra (Hunter) went down there. I was going then, but I hadn’t taken my test. I did that earlier this month and now I can take the trip.”

The Red Raiders were at the top of Pierce’s list then, and Mike Leach’s team hasn’t moved in the last month.
“I have liked Texas Tech for a long time,” he said. “I’m still favoring them, but I am looking forward to the trip. After my trip, I’ll have a good idea of what is going on then. I don’t know if I’ll schedule any more or not.”
Pierce is also receiving attention from SMU and TCU who have extended scholarship offers. Tennessee had expressed interest earlier in the fall.
