Texas CB pledges to in-state school
Killeen, Texas cornerback Columbus Givens has taken two official visits already and now he has one more trip scheduled. One of the trips convinced the two-star prospect to make his verbal commitment.
"I visited SMU and UTEP in December," the 6-foot-1, 185-pound Givens said. "After I got back and thought about it over Christmas, I made a verbal commitment to UTEP. It is a soft verbal, though.

"I am talking to Stephen F. Austin and SMU a little bit still. I am going to take an official visit to Stephen F. Austin this weekend. I'm looking forward to taking the trip."
Givens was impressed with the coaches at UTEP, leading him to commit.
"I like the coaching staff. I like Coach (Mike) Price a lot. It might be the right place for me. Right now, they are the top school. I will make my final decision at the school on signing day."
