Texas CB knew Tech was the right place

Longview, Texas, cornerback Corderra Hunter had Mike Leach's team at the top of his list and the longer he thought about it, the better off the situation in Lubbock sounded.
"I have committed to Texas Tech," the 6-foot-2, 170-pound Hunter said. "It was a school I was high on early and it is a good fit for me. I am excited about the possibilities that we have there and I'm ready to get down there and play."

Hunter had also considered TCU, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Kansas and Kansas State.
"I had offers from all of the schools that recruited me," he said. "I was going to visit Oklahoma, but their interest seemed to start to go away, and I felt comfortable with Texas Tech.
"I feel it is the right place for me. It came down to TCU and Texas Tech. I visited both schools and came away knowing Tech was where I was needing to go."
Another factor for Hunter was his teammate James Pierce heading to Texas Tech with him.
"Having James there was a part of this decision for me. I wanted to be able to keep playing with him."
