Vickiel said, "I grew an inch and gained a couple of pounds since our last interview."
He has offers from Nebraska, Texas, Texas A&M, Miami, Michigan State, Arkansas, West Virginia, Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA, Southern Cal, North Carolina, Arizona, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, Oregon and Oregon State.
He has eliminated Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, Tulsa, Oregon and Oregon State from consideration and has added Alabama & Notre Dame to his list of offers.
Distance is not a factor in his decision, his comfort with the school will be the deciding factor.
Vickiel has a visit set up with West Virginia for the Virginia Tech game.
He will make his decision after the season, probably sometime in January.
If he had to make his official visits, they would be to the following (his comments follow):
West Virginia - "The coach is good and it has a similar style defense as my high school. I have setup a visit to them."
Miami - "I like them, because it's in Florida and I have acquaintances in the area."
Michigan State - "I'm interested in what they've got and they're recruiting techniques are interesting to me."
Nebraska - "You've got to have a big name on your list and they're the top notch school on this one."
Vickiel Vaughn would round out his top five visit candidates with a new offered school, Notre Dame and they replaced Oregon on his top five.
"The coach is comfortable to talk to and gives me a sense of confidence," he said about Notre Dame.
Vickiel changed his planned major to Business Finance.
