Texas athlete racking up offers

Sugar Land (Texas) Austin athlete/dual-threat quarterback Michael Jones is one of the fastest rising prospects in Houston. With more than 500 yards of total offense in his last two games, college coaches are definitely taking notice.
Jones, who is 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, said he had four touchdowns in his first game, followed that up with 273 yards passing and a touchdown and then last week had 283 yards passing and scored on a 53-yard touchdown run.

Jones already had plenty of offers heading into the September calling period with offers on the table from Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Houston, Missouri and Utah. And his call list looks pretty much the same.
He’s received calls from Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Houston, Missouri, Utah, Kansas, Arizona State and Arizona. But he’d love to hear from one in-state school.
“I want Texas to recruit me,” Jones said. “If they’d offer me they’d commit, but they’re really not recruiting me, so I know I’ll have to look at my other options.”
In an earlier update, Jones said Oklahoma State was his top team, but he said he’s now backed off of that and is open to all of the teams on his list.
“Mostly I want to go where I feel comfortable,” Jones, ranked as the No. 95 player in the state of Texas, said. “I also want to get a good degree and have something that I can use after football is over.”
